Deutsche Bucht tendering opened

GERMANY: The developer of the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea is now sending out the invitation to tender for work on the project.

Areva is confident that it will still supply the turbines for the project

K2 Management, which is overseeing the tender for project developer Highland Group Holding, said that suppliers have been pre-qualified and may now submit bids.

The firm added that it expects to reach financial close on the project by the second quarter of 2015. Highland Group Holding bought the 210MW project from Windreich in 2012.

K2 said that it has received "great interest" from suppliers in the project.

The previous owner, now insolvent Windreich, had agreed to buy the turbines for the project from Areva, and last October, the manufacturer said it is confident it will still supply the turbines for the wind farm.
