The Rudong Energy Bureau in Jiangsu province approved the plans to develop the site yesterday.
Ming Yang CEO Chuanwei Zhang said the deal will help the company to continue developing its super-compact-drive turbines for the offshore market.
The company did not state which turbine it planned to install at the site.
In May, Ming Yang said it gained approval to install a prototype 6MW two-blade turbine at a wind project off the Rudong coast.
It agreed an exclusive licence with designer Aerodyn for the sale and manufacture of the 6MW turbine in China up until 2019 at a cost of EUR 12 million.
The Chinese manufacturer saw its revenue increase by 52% in the first quarter of 2014 compared with a year earlier, hitting CNY 1.2 billion ($194 million). This was largely due to an increase in the number of turbines commissioned during the period, the company said.
