Suzlon wins 100MW Indian order

INDIA: Suzlon has won an order to supply turbines with a capacity of 100.8MW for installation on its new tall tower on a project in Rajasthan.

Suzlon has previously worked with ReNew Wind Power on other projects

The Indian manufacturer will provide 48 of its S97 2.1MW machines to the Bhesada wind farm being developed in the Jaisalmer district by Indian developer ReNew Wind Power.

This latest order represents the first time that the company's new taller tower will be deployed. At 120 metres, the lattice and tubular hybrid tower should result in greater output from the turbines.

The company will also provide operations and maintenance services at the project for an undisclosed period. A timescale for installation was not revealed.

ReNew already has Suzlon turbines on projects in Gujarat and Maharashtra with more than 100MW of combined capacity.

Suzlon looked to be turning around its fortunes somewhat when it posted its first quarter results earlier in June. The company saw its net losses narrow and its unwieldy debt take on a more manageable look.
