Juwi signs 225MW deal with Vestas

DENMARK: Vestas has signed a framework agreement for 225MW with German developer Juwi, to be installed throughout the year in southern and central Germany.

The deal is for 75 V112 3MW turbines. The first of these will be delivered to a 21MW project in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate during Q3 and includes a 15-year service contract.

According to Vestas, the deal follows on from a similar agreement in 2012 for 47 turbines.

Last month, German insurance company Gothaer made up to EUR 150 million capital available to Juwi's independent power producer sister company Juwi IPP.

The funds will go towards wind and solar plant development over the next 20 years. The first EUR 50 million has already been made available for projects in December 2013.

Juwi has installed around 1.5GW of wind capacity around the world. Juwi IPP holds 450MW of wind and solar capacity, mainly in Germany.

It plans to more than double this to 1.15GW within the next three years, concentrated mainly in Germany but include other European countries, the company said in January.
