In a document explaining the decision, the NEA said companies need to improve preliminary work in meeting the conditions required of the projects, particularly those relating to grid connection and electricity sales, the NEA document said.
In all the rejected projects have a total capacity of 1,743MW.
If the developers want to launch the projects again and apply for state subsidies, they must resubmit applications for approval.
The affected projects are the first installment plan. The NEA has urged developers of other projects, especially those included in the second and third instalment plans, to speed up the fulfilment of subsidy requirements.
Beginning from 2011, the NEB has approved four plans for a formidable scale of new wind power installations. With the cancelled capacity deducted, the remaining projects add up to around 105.94GW in total.
