The $400 million contract will see Acciona “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç supply its AW116/3000 3MW medium wind speed turbine. It is the company’s biggest order for the turbine in the US.
Turbine deliveries will begin in 2014 with the wind plant is due to be fully operational in 2015. The deal also includes a 10-year operations and maintenance agreement.
The 3MW turbine has four rotor diameter configurations – 100, 109, 116 and 125 meters and can be mounted on steel and concrete towers of between 87.5 and 140 meters high.
