Northern Offshore Services has bought Damen Shipyards’ Twin Axe vessel

The Twin Axe was built by the Dutch shipbuilders in Gorinchem, near Rotterdam, Netherlands. The vessel’s hull is made of aluminium and is designed to ensure low resistant and high speeds in wavy conditions.

The craft can transfer personnel on to wind turbines at wave heights of more than 2.5 metres. It can reach a maximum speed of 26 knots with a range of 1,200 nautical miles.

The 26-metre long vessel can accommodate a crew of four and up to 12 passengers and has a 90-square-metre deck with an onboard crane.

Northern Offshore Services has offices in Sweden and Denmark and a fleet of nearly 20 vessels.
