Westerly sells 200MW Texas project

UNITED STATES: Westerly Wind has sold its Route 66 wind farm in Texas to First Wind Holdings.

The project is located near the historic Route 66

The 200MW project is in the final stages of development. It will deliver generated power to the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas power markets through the newly established Competitive Renewable Energy Zone transmission (CREZ) transmission line.

Located in Armstrong and Carson counties, east of Amarillo, the project is spread across approximately 81 square kilometres.

"The Route 66 wind power project is well positioned to capture the excellent wind resource in the Texas Panhandle and we are pleased to have sold this project to an experienced wind farm owner-operator such as First Wind," said Westerly chief executive, Steve Schauer.
