Construction is set to start in the fourth quarter of 2013 and the company will sell the energy generated via a 20-year fixed-price contract.
BayWa, a Bavarian firm involved in agriculture, energy and construction materials, moved into renewable energy generation in 2011 with the purchase of a number of sites in the US and Australia.
In the US, BayWa acquired 70% of WKN USA from Windkraft Nord USA securing 110MW of projects.
"With the expiration of the PTC (production tax credit) fast-approaching, Baywa is pleased to have expanded its pipeline of late-stage acquisitions," said Florian Zerhusen, chief executive of BayWa Wind.
"We... are in the position to successfully complete late-stage projects."
The project has been renamed Brahms Wind by its new owner.
