Lindvig, 60, will leave A2Sea at the end of August, having joined the Danish company in 2001. Kaj Lindvig was CEO from 2001 until 2008, when he became chief sales officer responsible for sales, service and business development.
According to A2Sea, Lindvig will continue to work as a board member for various Danish companies, primarily within the offshore wind sector. He will also work on a consultancy basis for various suppliers, including A2Sea, through his newly established company, Lindvig Consulting.
"Lindvig leaves a company he has left his mark on to a great extent since its establishment in 2000," said an A2Sea spokesperson.
A2Sea installed the first 80 offshore wind turbines in the world in 2002 – at Horns Rev outside Esbjerg, west Denmark.
From 2005 to 2013 Lindvig was a member of the board of directors of the Danish Wind Industry Association and a board member of Offshore Centre Danmark from 2009 to 2013.
A2Sea generated DKK 1.37 billion (EUR 185 million) in revenue in 2012, representing a 44.2% increase on the previous year. The company was acquired by Dong Energy (51%) and Siemens Wind Power (49%) in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
