Seapower Invest has been awarded the largest number of Polish offshore wind development licenses of any company thus far, “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Offshore can report.
Five subsidiaries of the Swiss-headquartered investment firm have received one license each, out of a total of 13 awarded by the Polish Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs (MTMA).
The ministry confirmed this information with “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Offshore, but declined to provide details about project capacities.
It is thought that Seapower Invest bid for twelve licenses via a series of subsidiaries, all featuring the name Generpol.
Other license winners include Kulczyk Holding, PGE EO, PK Orlen.
Seapower Invest was created in May 2012 and is run by Andreas Blutke, assisted in Poland by Thomas Spindler. Blutke has long been interested in offshore wind in Polish waters, having unsuccessfully sought some years ago to secure a building permit for a near-shore project.
