Financial close achieved for 216MW Northwind project

Belgian project secures necessary funds

Financial close has been reached for the NorthWind 216MW offshore wind station project in Belgian waters. The deal has been described by developer, NorthWind Offshore Energy, as one of the largest financial investment transactions in Belgium in recent years.

Construction of the power station is due to proceed in early 2013 at the Bank Zonder Naam (Lodewijkbank), 37 kilometres off the coast of the Belgian port of Oostende, said NorthWind.

Northwind is owned by the Colruyt Group and the green energy company Aspiravi Offshore.
