A contract for operational improvements to the two offshore electricity substations that serve Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm has been won by CLS Offshore.
The Sheringham Shoal contract adds to a growing list of offshore wind projects for CLS, which installed and commissioned the turbines for another UK wind farm, Thanet. The company has also recently been awarded a two-year operations and maintenance support contract by Greater Gabbard.
Speaking with “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Offshore, CLS Offshore managing director, Scott McMillan, explained that offshore wind-related work currently accounts for about 15% of the company’s annual revenue, which stands at about £15m (€18m).
Best known for serving North Sea oil and gas sector clients, CLS is experiencing strong growth and is bidding for an increasing number of offshore wind contracts. McMillan expects the proportion of the company’s work and revenue coming from offshore wind to grow.
