RES Offshore has been supporting Dong Energy as the latter prepares to develop the first offshore wind farm within the Hornsea zone. Procurement of onshore and offshore high voltage cables has been RES Offshore’s focus.
Providing consultancy services to Dong, RES Offshore authored the scope and specification for an invitation to tender for the supply of high voltage AC and DC cables. The consultancy also undertook evaluation of tenders, “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Offshore understands.
Submission of a consent application for the first 1.2GW to be built within Hornsea’s boundaries is planned for June. Dong has bought a 33% stake in the first two Hornsea phases, which could boast a combined capacity of 3GW.
RES Offshore and Dong Energy are also codeveloping, together with B9 Energy, a 600MW wind farm planned for waters off the south east coast of Northern Ireland.
