The last turbine at the 270MW Lincs offshore wind farm has been installed. The seventy-fifth SWT-3.6-120 unit was placed on 31 March by Siemens.

Lincs is a joint venture between Centrica Energy, DONG Energy and Siemens. The project director, Patrick Harnett, said the installation marked an "important milestone". He added: "Moving forward, we’ll be focusing on the commissioning of each of the Siemens 3.6MW turbines, getting the wind farm up to full strength."

Located in the North Sea, 8km off Skegness, Lincs' construction is being handled out of the port of Esbjerg, Denmark. Turbine installation began in July 2012 and first power was generated in August. Full commissioning is expected later this year, to be managed out of the port of Grimsby and Sutton Bridge, near King’s Lynn.

Once it is fully operational, Lincs will be managed from Centrica’s new operations and maintenance (O&M) base in Grimsby. The base also hosts Siemens' service team and will serve as a shared resource for the Lincs and Lynn & Inner Dowsing wind farms.

Centrica is also planning to develop the up to 580MW Race Bank offshore wind farm, to the east of Lincs and Lynn & Inner Dowsing.
