Centrica charters four Gardline vessels for Lynn & Inner Dowsing

Crew transfer vessels to operate out of Grimsby

Centrica has awarded Gardline a four-boat charter for Lynn and Inner Dowsing. Gardline's Coastal Services Division will supply four 20m crew transfer vessels (CTVs). Operating out of Grimsby dock, they will transfer personnel and equipment to the wind farms, 5km off the Lincolnshire coast.

Michael Martins, Gardline's head of coastal services, said the contract was "another milestone" in its strategy of being "CTV vessel supplier of first choice to the growing offshore renewable market". Gardline Coastal Services' fleet currently comprises 14 vessels, 12 of which are CTVs. Three more are in production.

The 194MW Lynn & Inner Dowsing was fully commissioned in March 2009. Centrica opened its new £3m (€3.6m) operations and maintenance (O&M) base at Grimsby docks in September 2012. It houses more than 100 employees and can be expanded. Previously, O&M was run from temporary facilities in the dock.
