Talks between UK energy firm, Centrica, and an unnamed potential financial partner over the future of 480MW Race Bank offshore wind farm continue, a company spokesperson told “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Offshore. Centrica was granted the right to proceed with construction of the project last year, but said in February that it is willing to commit no more than £200m of its own funds.
Meanwhile, Centrica’s plans to remove two met masts erected in 2005 within the Race Bank and Docking Shoal development zones, off England's east coast, are about to be realised.
A decision to remove them was announced early this year, following discoveryof a flaw in their design that means they are vulnerable to early fatigue. A vessel is currently being mobilised to undertake the job, which will go ahead as soon as weather conditions allow.
