DONG, E.ON and Vattenfall considering Danish 1GW bids

Horns Rev 3 and Kriegers Flak in developers' sights

DONG Energy, E.ON and Vattenfall are among those considering bids for 1GW of new Danish offshore wind capacity. The companies attended a conference on Monday, at the Danish Energy Agency. It was for parties interested in bidding for the planned 400MW Horns Rev 3 and 600MW Kriegers Flak projects. Private meetings between potential bidders and the Danish Energy Agency will take place at the end of the month.

It follows Vattenfall’s announcement this week, of its intention to reduce its stake in the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) off the Scottish coast. The company said it had to "prioritise its investments." A spokesman for Vattenfall said it was interested in the Danish projects.

Energinet.dk has also invited interested parties to public meetings this week, ahead of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for Kriegers Flak. The presentation from the 13 May meeting and a list of the participants can be found here.
