Scira Offshore Energy, operator of the 317MW Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm, has appointed a new power plant manager. Jason Halsey will succeed Statoil's Einar Strømsvåg, who will return to Stavanger after a four-year secondment.
Lincolnshire-based Halsey is currently head of operations in the UK for DONG Energy, responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) at all of DONG's UK offshore wind farms. He was previously site manager at E.ON's Robin Rigg offshore wind farm.
Halsey will join Scira on 1 July and formally take on full responsibility for Scira from 15 July. He will head up the Scira team at Wind Farm Place, Sheringham Shoal's new purpose-built O&M base near Wells-next-the-Sea.
Siri Kindem, chairman of the Scira board, said: "We are delighted that Jason is joining our team to lead the Sheringham Shoal operation. Einar Strømsvåg has done an excellent job in establishing Scira and now we look forward to continued success as Jason heads up the team."
Sheringham Shoal is owned by Statoil and Statkraft through the joint-venture company Scira Offshore Energy. Located off the Norfolk coast, the 317MW wind farm was officially opened in September 2012.
