Construction of the Anholt offshore wind farm has further boosted the local economy, on Denmark's Djursland peninsula. To date, Djurs Wind Power network member companies have secured orders worth DKK 450m (€58.5m) during the 400MW project's development.
Among them are offshore companies, carpenters, bricklayers, transport and logistics companies, crane suppliers, lawyers, hotels, airports and ferry companies. And 330 jobs have been created as a direct result.
Located in the Kattegat, DONG Energy's 111-turbine wind farm is Denmark's largest. The Siemens SWT-3.6-107 turbines were installed over an eight-and-a-half months' period, with the 111th and final turbine installed last month. Due for completion this summer, Anholt is set for official inauguration in September.
