EDF wraps up work at Teesside

13 turbines in operation, remaining 14 due online soon

EDF has finished construction work at the 62MW Teesside offshore wind farm in north-east England. Construction by EDF Energy Renewables – jointly owned by EDF Energy and EDF Energies Nouvelles – began in February 2012.

The project first started generating electricity in April and now has 13 Siemens 2.3MW turbines in operation. The remaining 14 units will start producing over the next few weeks. "By completing this project we have further established our position as a leading player in the offshore wind energy segment," said Antoine Cahuzac, CEO of EDF Energies Nouvelles.
