Osbit Power's access system set for Walney 1&2

UK: MaXccess-T18 to facilitate high sea state access to 367MW wind farm

Osbit Power's MaXccess-T18 offshore access system is to be deployed at the Walney 1&2 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea. The goal is to facilitate safe high sea state access to the 367MW development, located off Walney Island, Cumbria.

The MaXccess-T18 system is being installed on the newly delivered Bayard 7 for an initial 12 month charter. Installation works are underway in Denmark, with the system due to begin operations from Barrow on 1 July.

It has been specifically designed for vessels over 18m in length and follows the successful entry into service of the T12 system. MaXccess-T12 systems have been operating at Greater Gabbard since August 2012 and Sheringham Shoal since January 2013. With many thousands of safe transfers completed, the systems have provided an increase in working days at the two sites.
