perations are underway to install Alstom's first Haliade 150 6MW offshore turbine at the Belwind 2 wind farm in Belgian waters.
The foundations were completed in the spring and the company is now carrying out a number of tests at Ostend port. These include assembling the "bunny" - the fitting of two blades on to the rotor.
The next step will be the installation of the jacket, which Alstom hopes will be shipped in the coming weeks. The tower will be installed over the summer, followed by the "bunny" and then the final blade.
Cablelaying is due to take place in August. If all goes to plan, Alstom still hopes to complete the installation in September, weather permitting.
Swire Blue Ocean's Pacific Osprey jack-up vessel is carrying out all the installation work.
The pre-series of the Haliade turbine is currently under production at Alstom's St-Nazaire workshop, with series production scheduled to start next year when the company's two
