The contract with GDF Suez Energia Italia includes Vestas’ active output management service package, which provides a guarantee to align service and maintenance work with low wind speed periods.
The entire fleet — 31 V90-2.0MW turbines and 80 V52-850kW units, installed between 2006 and 2010 — will also be covered by Vestas’ weather and power forecasting systems.
"We decided to renew our service and maintenance agreement for another ten years on the basis of our long-lasting business relationship with Vestas and its ability to meet a number of specific requests – not least maximising our wind power plants’ value by increasing the turbines’ reliability and availability," said Pascal Renaud of GDF Suez Energia Italia.
Vestas secures ten-year service deal in Italy
ITALY: Vestas has won a ten-year service contract extension for six wind projects in Italy operating 111 turbines with a total capacity of 130MW.
