Platina sells 69MW portfolio

UNITED KINGDOM: Private equity firm Platina Partners has sold five UK wind farms to complete the investment cycle of its Mistral Windfarm 1 fund.

Established in 2005, the fund was used for construction-ready projects in the UK and France and delivered 105MW of operational wind farms.

Platina sold the 36MW of French assets in 2008. This sale, to an unnamed investor, of the Burton Wold, Milton Keynes and Winscale Moor projects in England, together with Garves in Northern Ireland and Pates Hill in Scotland, accounts for the remaining 69MW.

Platina claims the fund has secured an internal rate of return (IRR) of over 40% for investors.
