NETHERLANDS: Vestas has signed a ten-year extension to its five-year service contract for Eneco's Princess Amalia wind farm.

Previously known as Q7, Princess Amalia is located 23 kilometres off the Dutch coast. The 120MW project consists of 60 Vestas V80-2MW turbines. It was commissioned in 2008. The service contract relates to both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

In January, project owner Eneco announced it entered into an agreement with Mitsubishi to cooperate further on offshore wind, with Princess Amalia forming part of this agreement.

At the time, Mitsubishi also acquired a 50% stake in the 129MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm.
