Dong announces 17% hike in wind and hydro

DENMARK: Dong Energy recorded a 17% increase in electricity generation from wind and hydro in Q1 2013.

The company said output reached 1.5TWh, with the increase related primarily to London Array 1.

Dong owns 50% of the 630MW UK wind farm, which generated first power in Q4 2012. It became the world's largest operational offshore wind farm in March and was completed this month.

The company said its Q1 revenue had risen by DKK 1.7 billion to DKK 3.2 billion (EUR 429 million). It said this was driven by income from contracts relating to the Anholt and Borkum Riffgrund offshore wind farms in Denmark and Germany, respectively.
