Additionally, EDF Renewable Energy has acquired the remaining 49% it did not own of the wind farm from US developer Cielo Energy.
Construction is set for June with the aim of brining the project online by mid-summer 2014. When complete it will have 87 GE 1.85MW turbines.
The project will be among the first to be connected to the Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (Crez) transmission line.
Speaking about the deal, Tristan Grimbert, president and CEO of EDF Renewable Energy, said: "In 2011, we determined to enter the Texas market with Spinning Spur I, and are pleased to build upon this success and increase our investment in Oldham County."
One of the investors in Spinning Spur I is Google, which expanded its wind power portfolio with the $200 million purchase of an equity stake in the wind farm in January.
Spinning Spur I will use Siemens 2.3MW turbines.
