Vestas appoints former Volvo executive as new CFO

DENMARK: Vestas has replaced former chief financial officer Dag Gunnar Andresen with Marika Fredriksson, a former CFO of medical technology company Gambro.

Fredriksson's appointment follows the announcement Andresen is to leave Vestas at the end of the month, due to "personal reasons" after only a year in the job.

In addition to Gambro, Vestas' new CFO has held the same role at automotive companies Volvo Construction Equipment (1996-2008) and Autoliv (2008-2009).

Former Vattenfall CFO Andresen was appointed in April 2012 to replace Henrik Norremark, who was among a series of high-profile Vestas boardroom casualties during Q1-Q2.

Andresen arrived shortly after former Sony Ericsson CEO Nordberg, who was voted into the role of chairman last month after a period of intense upheaval at Vestas.

Speaking about the change around, Vestas CEO Ditlev Engel said: ""I would like to thank Dag Andresen for his important contribution to Vestas.

"At the same time, I am very pleased that we have managed to find an excellent new CFO in Marika Fredriksson, who will be joining Vestas on 1 May 2013. I am certain that she has the right competences, commitment and cultural fit into our executive management team."
