The order for 35 V112 3MW turbines constitutes the second stage of the Botievskoy project located in the coastal area of the southern region of Zaporozhye.
The turbines will be delivered at the end of this year and should be commissioned in the summer of 2014.
The deal represents the second stage of a 200MW supply deal for Botievskoy, which is part of DTEK's 500MW Priazovsky wind farm cluster in Zaporozhye. When completed Botievskoy will be the largest of three wind projects in the cluster.
In autumn 2012 Vestas installed the first 30 V112 3 MW turbines for the Botievskoy project. The other two farms in the cluster are Primorsky 150MW and Berdyansky 150MW.
Vestas sold its first turbine in the Ukraine in November 2011. A V112 3MW turbine went to wind developer Vindkraft Ukraina's Novorossiske project in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine.
DTEK accounts for around 30% of the Ukraine's thermal power generation. It is owned by Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov. According to Forbes, Akhmetov is the world's 39th richest man with a net worth of around $16 billion.
