The lion's share was onshore, according to the data reported today by German wind energy association BWE and engineering federation VDMA's power systems division.
Of the new additions, 16 turbines with a total 80MW were installed offshore in the Germany, expanding the offshore fleet to 280MW.
Transmission
Meanwhile, Germany's wind expansion has prompted transmission system operator Tennet to invite private individuals to co-invest in a new high-voltage transmission line planned to run down the west coast of the state of Schleswig-Holstein to take up wind-generated electricity.
Allowing private individuals an investment of €1,000 per share up to €40 million, or a maximum 15% of the investment budget, is expected to substantially improve public acceptance for the new overhead line and allow it to be built within one year.
