The rally was scheduled to take place tomorrow in front of the British Consulate in Manhattan, New York. An advert for participants appeared on classified ads website Craigslist, offering $20 to "stand next to or behind the speakers and elected officials/celebrities that will be speaking at the rally".
However, the rally has now been delayed. An email from the organisers read: "Our firm has decided that it is not wise to have you and other volunteers/extras stand outside for a prolonged period of time in this miserable weather that we have been facing recently.
"It will be a lot easier and nicer/happier for everyone, including us, for this to take place at a later date when it is a bit warmer and when the weather is more reasonable to deal with."
It is unclear who is behind the rally, although an event company called Ovation placed the advert on Craigslist. This has now been removed.
The forecast for Mannhatten tomorrow is for rain and winds of 20mph.
