Sany-owned Ralls Corp has reportedly filed a document in a federal court in Washington bringing a lawsuit against a US unit of Athens-based Terna Energy, according to a one-paragraph letter from Ralls's attorney, Viet Dinh, to US district judge Amy Berman Jackson.
Berman Jackson is overseeing Ralls' lawsuit against the US government and president Obama over the president's decision last October to prevent Ralls from building four 10MW wind farms in Boardman, Oregon. The block was made on grounds of national security, with Obama citing the projects' locations as too near the naval weapons systems training facility.
Terna Energy sold the project sites to Ralls in March 2012. Each project was to comprise five Sany 2MW turbines.
The precise details of Ralls' complaint against Terna are as yet unknown as the documents were unavailable from the court's electronic records, and Dinh's letter offered no information about the case, reported Bloomberg.
The US Justice Department has asked Berman Jackson to throw out Sany's legal action against the government and president, but she is yet to respond.
