Beijing authorities postpone China Wind Power 2012

CHINA: China Wind Power 2012 conference and exhibition will be postponed to November 15-17, according to the event's sponsor the Chinese Wind Energy Association (CWEA).

CWEA said it had been informed by Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau that "no large events can be held in October 2012 in Beijing, and all scheduled events must be moved to a different date."

China Wind Power 2012 was scheduled to take place on October 16-18.

Though CWEA has not elaborated on the reason, it is understood the delay is meant to avoid clashing with the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It widely believed this is to convene in October in Beijing, with a transition of Chinese leadership.

CWEA said the show venue will not change, which is New CIEC, Beijing. At the same time, booth location,  and size, will be just the same as planned. China Wind Power, one of the most influential annual wind power conferences and exhibitions in the world, was first held in 2008.
