Gamesa wins 48MW deal from Longyuan

CHINA: Gamesa has been handed a 48MW contract from Longyuan for a project in China's eastern Fujian province.

The deal is for 24 G87 and G90 2MW turbines, which will be installed near the coast in Class I wind conditions.

In April last year, Gamesa agreed to jointly develop 200MW wind farms with Longyuan in China by 2015. It also comes after last month's announcement from Gamesa that five of its 2MW turbine models have been approved for the Chinese market.

In a move Gamesa said would open up new opportunities in Asia, the China Electricity Power Research Institute (CEPRI) has certified Gamesa’s G80, G87, G90, G97 and G87 CS models.

Gamesa is also expecting to receive certification for its 4.5MW G128 turbine later this year following the completion of testing in northern Spain.
