Skanska and Jämtkraft buy 80MW Swedish wind farm

SWEDEN: Infrastructure group Skanska has teamed up with power producer Jämtkraft to purchase the 80MW Mullberg Wind Park in central Sweden.

The two companies will each take a 50% stake in the project, which they have purchased from Eolus Vind, Mullberg’s original developer.

Jemstka, a company jointly owned by Skanska and Jämtkraft, will be the building contractor for the project, taking responsibility for building the wind farm and connecting it to the grid.

The total construction cost of the project is slated at SEK 200 million.

Skanska and Jämtkraft said procurement for a turbine supplier had begun and that with the necessary approvals already in place, energy generation from the wind farm would begin in 2013.
