RWE Renewables Polska has agreed to buy the 14MW Krzecin wind farm located in the Western Pomeranian region of northeast Poland. Gamesa developed and built the project, which comprises seven Gamesa G90 2MW turbines.
The sale marks the second agreement reached between the two companies in the wind energy market. 18 months ago, Gamesa sold RWE Innogy a 32MW wind farm in Poland.
Gamesa said the sale reinforced its wind farm development and sale business in Eastern Europe, specifically in Poland where it has sold multiple wind energy developments in recent months and where it had a pipeline of 800MW at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
The Polish facilities, coupled with those of Romania and Bulgaria, bring the portfolio managed by the company in Eastern Europe to 2,550MW.
