Goldwind sells 19.5MW Australian wind farm

CHINA: Goldwind has sold its 19.5MW Mortons Lane wind farm to developer China Guangdong Nuclear (CGN) Wind Energy.

The project uses Goldwind's 1.5MW turbines

At the purchase ceremony in Sydney, CGN chairman Chen Sui, said the purchase of the ML project marked a breakthrough in its strategy to expand outside China.

The ML project is located in the western part of Victoria State, Australia. It consists of 13 1.5MW Goldwind direct-drive turbines at 230 metres above the sea level.

The ML wind farm was constructed by Mortons Lane WindFarm, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldwind. In November 2011, the ML wind farm was approved to be connected to the local grid.

Goldwind asset sales

Goldwind has sold a series of assets recently. This week, it announced the sale of its 50% share in its wind developer subsidiary Shangdu Tianrun to China Three Gorges New Energy.

Last month, Goldwind sold its wholly-owned blade manufacturer Tellhow Wind Power to Sinoma Science and Technology subsidiary Simomatech for CNY 215 million ($33 million). Goldwind said the sale would allow it to "reduce investment in production".
