The Punta Chrome project near the city of Concepcion will use five of Vestas’ V100 1.8MW turbines, while the Raki project, located in the same region, will use three V112 3MW machines.
Seawind said it had obtained all the necessary permits to allow the two projects to be built and connected to the Chilean grid.
Both projects are expected to be producing power by the middle of next year, Seawind said.
The two projects were limited to 9MW to take advantage of Chile’s "small distributed generator" legislation.
