GE's flash mob took “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç 2012 by surprise
To mark its first decade in wind, America’s largest turbine manufacturer organised a flash mob, with dozens of people in green t-shirts dancing in one of the foyers of the vast conference centre. Video footage of the surprise event later .

Bill Wilson, national sales manager of MH&W International Corp, was one of the wind power men who joined the mob.

"I was on the floor, and someone from GE took me by the arm, and there I was," he recalled as he started to dance again, on the shuttle bus en route to the last day of the conference.

After the mob, Vic Abate, the company’s vice president of renewables, had noted wryly: "If you'd tried that in the nuclear business, I don't think you'd have gotten much participation. But in renewables, everyone joins in."

GE entered wind by buying Enron Wind in 2002.
