In 2003, C-Tech became the first Romanian company to become involved in wind energy projects. It is believed Sinovel will supply 3MW turbines and services for the C-Tech SRL wind farm.
The deal is reportedly part of a 1.2GW supply deal between the two companies.
While continuing to expand domestic market share, Sinovel has exerted all efforts to tap the world markets. Due to a competitive domestic market and tightened industrial policies, Sinovel's net profits plunged 73% in 2011 and 87% in the first quarter of this year.
This is Sinovel's biggest contract in Europe by some distance, with its next largest being a 6MW deal in Sweden. By the end of 2011, Sinovel had 922.5MW overseas orders signed or confirmed.
Sinovel says it has set up overseas branches and offices to march into North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and other Asian areas. It has won orders from the United States, Brazil, Sweden, Turkey, India and South Africa.
Sinovel said its 1.5MW turbine has been connected to the grid and passed 240 hours pre-examination assessment in the United States.
