Yesterday, 14 senior figures from the US wind industry including GE vice president for renewables Victor Abate, Siemens US CEO Mark Albenze and AWEA CEO Denise Bode went to the White House to discuss an extension to the PTC.
The 14 met a bipartisan group of 23 governors, the US Chamber of Commerce and the Edison Electric Institute. The industry collectively explained the loss of the credit could cost 75,000 jobs.
Additionally, tomorrow President Obama is due to tour a CPI Composites blade factory in Newton, Iowa.
Speaking about the current effort, Bode said: "With both President Obama and members of Congress covering the whole political spectrum supporting the wind tax credit to keep US manufacturing jobs, it shows there's a real chance of getting it done in time to keep this homegrown industry growing in America."
