The contract covers ten wind farms in the regions of Campania and Apulia equipped with a total of 126 Vestas V90-3.0MW and V90-2.0MW turbines installed between 2002 and 2011.
The contract covers both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and offers an energy-based guarantee, which ensures turbines are fully operational when the wind is blowing.
By minimizing the wind power plant's lost production, Vestas guarantees an energy output both for each site covered and for the entire fleet.
Vestas launched its enhanced service guarantee based on energy generation just last month. Wind farm owners and operators are increasingly less interested in traditional service guarantees based solely on the percentage of time a manufacturer guarantees turbines will work.
At end-2011, Erg Renew had 548MW in installed wind capacity in Italy and France. Its Lukerg Renew venture with Lukoil, recently acquired a 40MW Bulgarian wind farm.
