The trimaran will be powered by two MTU 10V 2000 M72 engines, each with a power output of 900kW and speeds of up to 23 knots. It will take up services in November.
Austal CEO Andrew Bellamy said: "Being able to transport wind turbine technicians comfortably in the rough sea conditions and over longer distances is the key requirement, and we have produced the solution to that need."
Austal is to supply 11 vessels to UK offshore wind companies, Offshore Wind Services, Seatcat Services and Sure Wind Marine.
The catamarans will be delivered between May and early 2013. The boats will be powered by MTU Series 2000 engines.
