The vessel will be a sister ship to the Sea Installer currently being built at Cosco's Nantong shipyard. However, it will have a bigger, 900-tonne capacity crane. It will be able to operate at water depths of up to 45-metres.
The 132-metre-long jack-up, capable of carrying eight to ten wind turbines and 60 personnel, is expected to be delivered in 2014.
Speaking about the vessel, A2SEA CEO Jens Frederik Hansen said: "With the fast-growing offshore market in northern Europe, we can already see that the demand for vessels for installation will grow dramatically.
"With the new installation vessel, we are well prepared to meet that demand and strengthen our position as a supplier of installation services."
