The bidders are France's EDF Energies Nouvelles with Mitsui of Japan; Italy's Enel Green Power with Taqa of the United Arab Emirates; and local conglomerate Nareva Holding with the UK's International Power.
The project will be awarded on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis, under a 20-year power purchase agreement with ONE. Commissioning is scheduled for 2014.
This was the first tender launched under Morocco's Integrated Wind Energy Programme, which targets 1GW of installed capacity by 2020 to be developed as public-private partnerships.
In April last year, 7 out of 27 companies and consortia made it through the pre-qualification round of a tender process.
They included Italy's Enel Green Power, Germany’s Enercon and Siemens with WKN Windkraft, AES, and local conglomerate Nareva Holding in partnership with the UK's International Power.
