CG wins Humber Gateway substation deal

UK: The contract for the design, engineering, supply and installation of the onshore and offshore substations for Eon's 219MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm has been awarded to CG, part of the Avanthe Group.

The contract for the design, engineering, supply and installation of the onshore and offshore substations for Eon’s 219MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm, part of UK Round 2, has been awarded to CG, part of the Avanthe Group.

Humber Gateway consists of 73 turbines, delivering power to a 280MVA offshore substation platform. Electricity will be transformed up to 132kV and delivered onshore via two export cables to a new National Grid substation 230km inland at Hedon in Hull, north-east England.

The substations are scheduled to be installed and commissioned in 2013 and to become fully operational with the wind farm in 2014. This represents the first contract win for CG in the UK.
