In her new role, Sicre will represent the Spanish wind industry in discussions with the government about a new regulatory framework for Spanish wind power.
Speaking about the negotiations, Sicre said they were fundamental for the future development of the industry. "The association is prepared to work with the executive in order to find the best possible solution, as much for Spain and the Spanish economy as for the sustainability of the sector."
The current regulatory framework expires at the end of this year.
Sicre takes up the role shortly after EDP's announcement its was selling a 21.35% stake of its businsess to Chinese state-owned firm China Three Gorges for €2.7 billion.
