AEDB wants the eight projects in Sindh province, with a combined value of US$1.6 billion, to be generating electricity by 2013. All schemes will be offered the government’s wind speed risk guarantee, known as Wind Risk, an AEDB official told the Associated Press of Pakistan.
These projects are in addition to three 50MW schemes in the Jhampir area, worth around US$400 million, currently being implemented by the AEDB.
The official said that in total the AEBD hoped to add 1,000 MW to Pakistan’s wind generating capacity by 2013.
