Two new wind farms for Exergy

US: One of the largest independent renewable-energy companies in the US, Exergy, has started construction on four wind farm projects in Idaho and Minnesota.

In Idaho, Exergy is installing 116MW across Twin Falls, Lincoln and Bingham counties. The remaining 36MW is being installed in Fairbault County, Minnesota.

"We have made substantial progress on the project sites in both states," said Dustin Shively, lead project engineer. "We will begin installing turbines in the second quarter of 2012 as weather permits." All the sites should be generating electricity by the end of the year.

Exergy was unable to disclose details on the turbines it will be using for the projects.
With Exergy's deployment of its 400MW Texas wind-farm project in 2012, the company's total built wind-farm capacity in the US by year-end will be nearly 800MW.
